Simon Gerrans’ Bastion
Hand built in Melbourne, Australia, the base of this beauty is a Bastion Road frame: filament wound carbon tubing bonded to 3D printed titanium lugs, and over 200 hours of production from start to finish. Of course when you’ve got a frame this stunning it’s only right to build it up correctly, so Simon chose Enve SES 5.5 Disc wheels built onto Tune hubs, and a Shimano Dura-Ace R9170 Di2 groupset with matching Ceramicspeed oversize pulley wheels and bottom bracket to keep friction to a minimum. A Black, Inc. integrated bar-stem keeps the front end tidy and a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres will keep him rubber side down. Simons watts will be measured with a Shimano Dura-Ace R9100P crank-based power meter and his bottles will be held firm with ever-trusty Arundel carbon bottle cages. Finally, comfort will be ensured with some Bastion bar tape and a Fizik saddle. The final build weight? An incredible 6.91kg as seen here.
