Corsica
Rugged, mountainous, and fiercely independent: an island built for adventure
Nearly two-thirds of Corsica is designated as natural parkland, leaving little doubt that this fiercely independent island is a beautiful place to ride a bike. Whether darting up to ancient villages on imposing clifftops, cruising along curved coastline past golden beaches, or climbing up into the rugged mountains, the variety and quality always astounds.
This ‘mountain in the sea’ is not a place of polish and style. It is rich in substance and history, and stimulates the senses at every turn. As you ride, you will notice the distinctive smell that emanates from the maquis, a dense aromatic scrub of local herbs that blankets large parts of the island. To replenish your energy, the cuisine is hearty and delicious, with influences from both France and Italy, and always served with lashings of wine. Put simply, this is a magical place for a two-wheeled adventure.
But don’t be fooled by the pretty pictures - there’s more to Corisca than meets the eye. The riding is tough, and it’s not just the landscapes that are rugged - the roads are often broken, bruised and battered too - only adding to the sense of adventure as we journey through this remote and unspoiled wilderness. Indeed, we have designed this trip with only one ambition in mind - to challenge and inspire even the strongest riders, with long day after long day of breathtaking, inspiring exploration.
