Repete Cycles

Repete Cycles is the brainchild of Mikoláš Voverka and Robin Fišer, building first class handmade steel bikes - and an international reputation to match - since 2012, with the entire design and production process taking place in their workshop in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic.

As just one example of their rightful status in the international framebuilding community, Repete took the prestigious Best Road Bike award at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show in 2015, and have been making waves ever since.

With a true independent spirit and creative flair, Repete bikes are produced and painted by hand using only the highest grade materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail - the perfect recipe for beautiful bikes that inspire you to ride again and again.

The all new Repete R3: Reason

“When we started making frames, we had a desire to create modern performance road steel bikes. With reference to history but with the most current technical standards. We are obsessed with finding functional and pleasing propositions. We believe in simplicity. It's been almost 12 years since we've followed that path and with R3 we bring the result of what we have come to during that time and what knowledge or technological capabilities we have achieved in production.

The R3 frame is built on Columbus Spirit HSS hi-performance tubing, we believe it gives the bike the ideal combination of performance, durability and comfort. It's a Road Bike with 35mm tire clearance, with full internal routing. We develop our own frame segments and distinctive design solutions in-house. Then, we cooperate with local production companies — whether it's a steel foundry for the production of our unique dropouts, CNC machining of head tubes and inserts or 3D printing of segments in metal and nylon. In the case of the R3, this all adds up to a distinctive and smooth form.

Developing your own solution is of course a big challenge but also an opportunity. There are endless perceptions and ideas you have of what you want the bike to look like, which gradually crystallize into a clear version (although during development even production files marked _FINAL can still change :D ). I'm glad that thanks to our team of mates in our Prague workshop we can realize these visions and I believe that all this personal approach during development, production but also by discussing building options with the customer makes the bike truly personal.

In terms of dream rides, I probably won't mention any classic destinations .) Instead, it's definitely the Beskydy mountains (Czech Republic) where I grew up and haven't had the time to go there with R3 yet. I know well the routes where I test all our models and with R3 it will definitely be a „dancing" loop which I will choose first and which includes 5 awesome climbs.”

Cast dropouts — The dropouts are produced by the technology of steel investment casting by the lost model method. Dropouts are produced in cooperation with a Czech foundry. The dropouts are hollow for weight reduction and have replaceable CNC machined aluminium inserts, which allow the wheel to be fixed by a thru-axle 142x12. See the VIDEO from the foundry.

Integrated Seatpost Clamp — We aimed to incorporate the seatpost clamp in its most functional form, taking inspiration from classic steel frames while incorporating modern standards. The distinctive 3D printed stainless steel segment allows the seatpost to be clamped with a M5 screw and replaceable threaded insert. We have been working with 3D metal printing for about 8 years. We have been waiting for a long time for a suitable application to really bring the benefits of this technology, and the seat post clamp, which is complex in internal structure and must be adjusted for each size, is exactly that element.

Internal Routing — For the R3: Reason we enhance the upper part of the head tube with a CNC machined stainless steel cup, allowing for integration of brake hoses within the frame, thanks to the IS52/IS52 headset standard. Paired with ENVE Road In-route forks, this results in a sleek, compact unit. The R3 is compatible with eTap, Di2 or EPS electronic shifting.

R2: REASON (Road Bike Model)

“The Reason is our uncompromising modern road bike. It is a powerful and fast machine that effectively translates monotonous muscle play into motion. The frame itself is made from high strength Columbus Spirit HSS steel, which gives the bike the essential characteristics – perfect rigidity, long life, and unique comfort. It also presents the possibility to use tires up to 700x28c.

Technical details determine the nature of our products, their design is based on function. The tapered head tube and T47 bottom bracket ensure ideal energy transfer. To facilitate the use of disc brakes and thru axles, we have developed our own stainless steel flat-mount dropouts. Our internal cable routing is compatible with both mechanical and electronic shifting. The Reason is available in six frame sizes and three standard colors - Mint, Mustard, Petrol. It is also possible to choose your own color scheme.”

G2: VERNE (Gravel Bike Model)

"The Verne, our all-terrain gravel model is a fast, comfortable, and maneuverable bike for convenient and agile riding on any surface. Clear the boundary between road and trail riding and let the hour journeys turn to day trips. The frame itself is made from high strength Columbus Spirit HSS steel, which gives this bike the most essential characteristics – perfect rigidity, long life, and unique comfort. The technical details determine the nature of our products and their design is based on function. The 44mm head tube and T47 bottom bracket ensure ideal energy transfer. We developed our stainless steel flat-mount dropouts to accommodate the use of disc brakes and thru axles. Our internal cable routing is compatible with both mechanical and electronic shifting. The shaped rear stay provides a large variability of tire clearance – up to 700×40c or 650×47c. A more comfortable stack/reach 1.55 geometry makes it possible to spend an entire day in the saddle with ease. The Verne can be selected in several configurations, two colors, and six frame sizes."
